I setup our users for folder redirection and offline files so their my
documents folder is automatically backed up to their folder on our file
server.
plus if the network is ever down they still have access to their files.
I have an issue where I have given a user a new PC, and gave his old PC to a
new hire.
When this new hire is logged into the PC I do not see anything mapped other
than his drive on the file server.
BUT - when he loggs off I get an error stating that it could not synchronize
with the folder for the PREVIOUS user.
Now, here is the curious thing.... I do not have the previous users folder
mapped to a drive, it does not show up anywhere on the PC that I can see.
plus, I even got into the registry and deleted a key that listed the
previous users folder at
CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\Shares\
and
CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\\netcache\AssignedOfflineFolders
but even after deleting the key for the previous users folder, when He logs
off and on again it is back in the registry again?!?
what else can I look at?
Its not really that big a deal, his folder still synchronizes, but people
hating getting error messages when logging off of their PC, even if I
explain what it is, they still hate it.
