Offline files problem.

Hi.

We have some problems with a customer who uses Windows XP who are a member
of a domain but not connected to the network. They connect with VPN when
they need to synchronise their offline files in "My documents". But some
users have problems with this and after a while the sync stops with an error
saying that it can't connect to the server.

This is only a problem with some users. I suspect that it's cause of their
ADSL line. It's impossible to recreate this error on a fast line. Some of
them have several thousand files, but quite small. Almost never over 100mb.

Is it possible to increase the timeout on the synchronisation? Edit some
register values?

Thanks.

I don't know what kind of timeout/retry settings you can configure in
Offline Files (someone else may post that), as I don't like or use it much
(I use third party software), but if they're using ADSL, it's entirely
possible that it is the cause the problem. You might find out whether they
can ping the server at the time they get the message....
