Offline Files

We are having some problems with Laptop users on XP Pro and offline
files.

The laptops are members of a domain.

The original problem was that no files were marked to synchronise - the
"Amount of space to use for offline files" bar was too small - i
increased this, synchronised, unplugged network cable and tested -
worked fine. User logs off and logs back in and soon experiences the
same problems. Again the space bar in offline files options had been
reset back to 0mb.

This happens everytime the user logs off and of course causes problems!

Has anyone else seen this problem before?

Thanks.

Hi there Guy,

Try this,

Make the changes and perform a synchronization, then shut the pc down.
Don't restart it, shut it down fully. Then, restart the machine off of the
network and see what happens.

Let me know!

Hi William - Thanks for this.

I followed the above but the same problems occoured. I disabled offline
files, cleared locally stored copies of everything. Re-enabled offline
files and upped the limit to 15gig (way above what is being
synchronised - about 400mb).

I went to sync the files and most synchronised but i did get some
"Incorrect Function" errors - which again i have never seen before. I
shutdown the laptop disconnected the lan cable rebooted up and checked
the files. Not all were synchronised and again the limit had been
dropped to 0mb in offline files options.

Any more ideas? - This one is really boggling us!

Thanks in advance.

Just bumping this up again - were still having the same problems. I
copied the users data over to a local file and used xcopy on her login
script as a temp fix, is it looking like a rebuild?
