Offline DC and AD

Jeff Baker

I have a DC that has been offline for about 3
months at another office site. They are just now
able to reconnect to the main office. If I let
it connect to the main office will the DC's at my
location update the AD info to what is current
or will it mess up my AD domain that is currently
running. We have had a lot of new objects added
since they went offline. Do I need to remove the
offline DC from AD and then do a reinstall of Win2k
on that server or will active directory update itself
correctly.

Thanks,

Jeff Baker

Hello,

We do not recommend bring a DC that has been offline for over 60 days
(Tombstone Lifetime).
