When I try to save Word or Excel files to a rewritable CD I get the following
messages: "Incorrect Funtion" (I click on OK) the next error message is "You
do have access to the folder 'E:\'. See you administrator for access to this
folder." My user is the set up as computer administrator. When I try to save
to a recordable CD I get a message stating that the file is read only, I have
unchecked the read only box and made this a shared folder but it keeps
changing back.

Right-click your CD Drive, press the tab "Recording" then check the box
labeled "Enable CD Recording on this Drive"

Open Windows XP's "Help and Support Center"
and perform a search for CD RECORDING.
The helpful topics and instructions will magically appear.

That part is done. Is there any way to save it so I can work on the file on
the CD. It only saves files as "Read Only". Before saving it to the CD I
unchecked every read only box I can find.

No. A CD is always "Read Only". In order to work
on a file recorded to a CD, you must first copy the
file to your hard drive, make your changes, then record
the file back to the CD.
