Office XP requires Word as your e-mail editor...

Outlook 2002, I'm getting the:

"This form requires Word as your e-mail editor but Word is either busy or
cannot be found"

error message. This is an office XP instalation, I have checked for other
versions of word and the word viewer and don't see any. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled. I have applied all service packs. I have removed the
registry entries from here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q319796

I only see one copy of outlook in the task manager processes list, but I do
see WINWORD loading as soon as outlook starts.

There appear to be a whole host of causes for this error message. Most have
no solution. Here are a few that do:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q284900
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q319796
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q196871
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q223934

In the most refractory of cases you can try the following at your own risk:
Get the Windows Installer Cleanup utility from Microsoft for your version of
Office. Then uninstall Word and run the installer cleanup utility to remove
anything that has Word in it and\or remove information from any previous
version of Microsoft Office. Reboot. Then re-install Word. Reboot. Then
go to Add\Remove and start to Remove Office but instead Repair it. Reboot.

This problem has been weird. Was doing it reliably when I posted now it
hasn't done it since I read your post. Your clean install procedure looks
good, so I'll try it if the problem reappears.

Thanks

John
