Office Short Cut Bar

Tom

I have gone to a new computer and cannot find how to get the Microsoft Office
Short cut bar to appear on the screen. It is the one that can be place just
about anywhere, disappears when not in use, and has buttons of frequently
used programs to bring them up quickly.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

You should post your question in a newsgroup that is specific to Microsoft
office. That way you will have access to more people who use the application
and are likely to get help faster. that will also free up this group to
answer basic questions about the XP operating system itself.

Thanks, I am new to this and thought I was in the right area. I will post

Depending on the version of office - it may not exist anymore.

The Microsoft Office dropped the shortcut bar I think with version 2002. Who
knows why. I agree with you it always was a very good feature.

That is a matter of opinion as I hate extra toolbars!

Right-click on the taskbar and click on toolbbars in the context menu. There
are many toolbars there and if the Office toolbar is not there then I assume
one of the others is a good substitute.

It is part of MS Office - you need to have that installed, and select the
short cut bar to be installed (it is optional).
You should be able to use control panel add/remove programs to change the
installed options for MS Office - you may need the install CD to add this
feature.
