Task Bar Missing

Hello,

The bar at the bottom of the screen where windows minimises to is gone, all
I have on it is the Quick launch between the Start button and the clock. If I
remove the quick launch from the bar then the whole thing disappears
including clock and start button. Pressing the start button on the keyboard
at this point bring up the start menu half way up the screen. Putting the
mouse at the bottom of the screen turns the cursor into an up and down arrow
indicating I could resize by dragging but this does nothing. Right clicking
when the cursor is an up and down arrow gives me the task bar right click
context menu, from which I can add back in the quick launch toolbar and make
the bar visible again.

How can I get my task bar back?

Have you tried this ?

Right-click a blank area on Taskbar when it is available. Select
Properties; this gets a dialog box with items checkmarked or not. Is
"auto-hide" checked ? Uncheck it. Should have Taskbar back in view.

Good enough :) I had this happen to me and did what I described except for
the partial showing you mentioned; that I couldn't figure out.
