This may sound crazy, but when I type in the product key on the back of my cd
case (which I purchased through my university bookstore), I keep getting a
message saying that it is an invalid product key. Who do I need to contact to
correct this or how can I go about getting this fixed?

correct this or how can I go about getting this fixed?

Contact the University as they provided the key and are the support path
for OEM/EDU software they sold you.

Make sure that you've entered the key properly, some letters look like
numbers and such.
