Please provide the exact error message and what type of email account you
have. Did this account ever work? When did it stop?

The exact message says: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to
open the Outlook window. The sset of folders could not be opened."
This account worked as of 3:30p 12/14/07 when I turned the computer off for
the day. I tried to open it this morning after turning on computer at 5:30a
12/15/07. And now I get this message. I have tried rebooting several times. I
even did a restore to an earlier point and nothing so far.

I would recommend scanning your PST file for errors first. With Outlook
closed, do a file/folder search for scanpst.exe. Double-click it and follow
the instructions. It will ask you to browse to your PST file though so you
should unhide all hidden files and folders first plus enable the view of
known file types. You can do this in Windows Explorer (Tools > Folder Options
View tab). Scan the PST repeatedly if required (if it finds errorrs, when
the scan is complete then scan again. Then try opening Outlook again.

If that doesn't work, create a new Outlook profile and associate it with
your PST file:

Please let me know how you make out.

K,

I am having the exact same problem and it just started yesterday. I have
Vista and Outlook 2007 and I have tried to search for scanpst.exe and I
cannot find anything of worth. I might not be searching correctly. It does
not appear in Vista that allows me to just search Files & Folders as I was
used to in older versions of Windows.

If you know how I should be searching in Vista so I can scan my .pst files
in Vista, I would very appreciative.
