Office connection at home via VPN

P

Patrick Garner

I've become a regular asking for advice on here, and I
want to thank everyone again for being so helpful.

I want a workstation off-site to be able to establish a
VPN connection to the office LAN at logon. I can get a
connection which is great. However, I want the remote
user to visually see the desktop he would see if he were
physically in the office.

Can anybody help me out with this? I know its possible.
The remote user's old machine was set up this way until
it caught of fire.

Thanks again for all your advice and comments.

download the remote desktop client for win2k

Then in XP you can connect to it using remote desktop connection. You will
need to know either the computer name or ip address of the computer at work

sorry i forget the name of the win2k client

I read your mail again and Im not sure that a roaming
profile would do the trick, i think you should be looking
at terminal services, which in effect allows you to
remotely control a computer.
