Office Basic 2003 = Office XP Standard?

The upgrade eligibility criteria isn't clear to me. I
have Office Basic 2003. But I find I need Access. The
upgrade eligibility lists Office XP Standard. Is Basic
2003 the same thing as XP Standard?

No, Office Basic Edition 2003 isn't the same as Office XP Standard. Office
Basic Edition 2003 contains Excel 2003, Outlook 2003 and Word 2003. Office
XP Standard contains Excel 2002, Outlook 2002, PowerPoint 2002 and Word
2002.

Unless the upgrade eligibility explicitly lists Office Basic 2003, I doubt
very much that it qualifies.
