office 97 to Office 2000

Hi,

I am planing to upgrade office 97 to Office 2000 / Office 2003 in large
scale. Do I need to recreate user's profile, especially in their outlook
configuration to our exchange server or the upgrade will auto migrate the
settings to the newer version, which does not require me to worry about user
not able to open thier outlook after the upgrade?

The upgrade *ought* to maintain the mail profile settings. Try it on a
single computer first.
Why would you upgrade to Office2000 on *some* computers? I'd make sure
everyone was running the same version, and just go with OL2003.
