Office 97 apps won't run after XP sp2 install

installed XP service pack 2 and now MS Office applications won't run; other
non-MS software all works fine.
 
Be sure to install the Office 97 SR2 patch. You may have to reinstall
Office 97 from scratch. It works perfectly on XP.
