Office 2003

Okay, I have installed Office 2003 from a disk, and from four or five MST's
that I have created (all because I think I might have done something wrong.)
However, after four of five times I now know I positively didn't do anything
wrong. Therefore, let me tell you about what I am doing.

First, I am upgrading about one thousand computers from Windows 2000 to
Windows XP. Second, I am upgrading Office 2000 Pro to Office 2003 Pro. Mind
you that I'm having to deal with JDEdwards, Accuterm, and other verious
software packages. I've worked through the big problems, but how about
helping me on these problems.

1. Some users are unable to Select, Copy, Paste, or Cut text out of Word,
or Outlook emails.
2. Some users are unable to Forward, Reply, or Create new emails.
3. Unable to install the ActiveX controll for Office updates, although the
Key is correct, and it works on other computers.

Please Help soon. Ask all the questions you need, if I wasn't clear.

Thank you,

I always complete the Windows Upgrades first. I even run disk cleanup, disk
defragmentation, and disk check prior to starting the upgrades. Do you have
any suggestions?

So you don't know if it's a glitch in Windows or if it's something in Office
that's causing the problems. I honestly don't know if anyone will be able to
give you an answer. Try posting in the applicable Windows newsgroup and see
if that rings a bell with any of the Windows gurus.

I don't suppose you chose to do the Windows upgrade first to make sure
everything was working well before you upgraded Office, did you?

Okay, I am experiencing this problem with five computers. Here is what I
did on one computer and word, excel, and outlook all work fine now.

1. Uninstalled Office 2003
2. Ran OFFCLN9.exe
3. Ran OFFCLN.exe
4. Deleted all 'Normal.dot' files
5. Restarted PC
6. Reinstalled Office from disk
7. Tested all office products
8. No problems

However, when I did the same process on two other machines the following
took place:

Machine 1:
The users can now hit enter in Exel to move from one cell to another.
The users cannot select, copy, or paste in Word.

Machine 2:
The users cannot select, copy, paste in Word, or use enter to move
from one cell to another in Excel. Nor can they right or left click.

What do you think now?
