Office 2003 re-activation

Office update required I install Windows new update software.
I did this and rebooted. Went to windows update site again and downloaded
office 2003 updates.
Now office requires re activation. Activation online has exceeded limit of 2.
When I click on activate by telephone the next activation screen with the
associated numbers fails to appear and so no activation numbers are provided
to re activate office by the tlephone support.
Now office applications were disabled and I could not do my work.
Windows restore cannot return my system to the prior state.
I restored my hardrive c:/ from a Ghost image and tried updating again.
Same problem occures !
Has Microsoft posted a fix or has someone out there solved this problem?
