Office 2003 Pro, Problem with Shortcut, fatal error during install

[Frustrated]

I have a Toshiba notebook with Office 2003 Pro installed running on 64Bit
Vista Business Ultimate. It also had the Student version of 2007 on it
(trial). I just uninstalled 2007 and now Office 2003 is screwed up. Office
2003 will not start. When I use the CD to repair, nothing seems to happen.
Every time I click on an Office application I get a dialog box with the
header:
Problem with Shortcut and in the box it says Fatal error during installation.
I tried both Repair and Reinstall to no avail. The setup program seems to
start OK but it just stops and nothing happens.

Please help. I need to be able to read my email at work tomorrow.

I will share with you what I would do. <g>


This just isn't the place for this question: These groups are for the
support of Windows Defender users.

I'd recommend a group where other users hang out.

Google services communities, and you should get good pointers
