Access 2003 keeps crashing with fatal error

This is getting very frustrating. Access 2003 crashes with a fatal error
(very apologetic) and asks me if I want to repair and reopen. Once this
starts happening it keeps happening every 5 minutes. It seems to me mainly
as I am doing a copy/paste in design mode on a form or just when moving
controls. I thought it was just my Notebook but am having the same problem
on my new Notebook. It also happens with different databases. I have tried
decompiling, compacting, etc. I think the problem only started after the
last 1 or 2 Office updates.

I am running XP Pro SP2, all the latest service packs for both the OS and
Office. I also have Access 97 installed and it still works like a dream.

Is anyone else having the same problems or have any solutions?

I do not know if this is of any help but you need to install Access 97
before you install 2003 if not you get problems.
Did you ever try to do an office repair, does not always help but...
I have Access 97, 2000 and 2003 installed together, did not have problems in
the beginning (sp2), got some crashes recently so I think one of these days
I am going to do a complete PC reinstall, I do that ususally every 1 to 2
years..

I don't think the install order is the problem. On my previous Notebook I
also had 97, 2000, XP and 2003 and only started getting crashes in the last
couple of months. I had also come to the conclusion that my Notebbok was due
for a reinstall but I am having the same problems with my new Notebook.

My guess is Microsoft have released a buggy update - hard to believe I know

Access MDB is _CRAP_

force your customers to upgrade to 2003; and don't work with MDB.
use Access Data Projects.

it's a MUCH MUCH MUCH better, more reliable, higher performance
solution
