Outlook displays fatal error during installation and won't open

When I try to open Outlook a message appears: Problem with Shortcut: Fatal
error occured during installation. How do i fix the problem?

Do you have the office suite installed? If so, try Detect and Repair on the
Help menu of Word or Excel.

When I try detect and repair in Word, Microsoft Office Professional edition
2003 setup failed appears.

Do you have the office suite installed? If so, try Detect and Repair on the
Help menu of Word or Excel.
