I an trying to install FrontPage from my office 2000 onto Vista home
premium, I have already installed office 2003, but this does not have
FrontPage thus.
It is missing E:\Pfiles\mso office\office\fpcutl.dll (I have fpcutl.dll in
.......\office10) .....
Then I got a message saying I was missing Excel9.olb. So I removed Office
2003, and tried to install 2000, same thing. I have tried to install as
administrator, no difference.
I have been all around the net, so am I wasting my time trying to put Office
2000 onto Home Premium?

Hi Graham,

I don't know the answer to your FrontPage problem; but in general terms,
Office 2000 is supported on Vista and mostly it runs okay. See

Hopefully other folks will have ideas about the missing dll issue. Hope this

You stated that you already have Office 2003. You also stated that you have
Office 2000. Your question was "are you wasting your time installing Office
2000".

My response was since you have both versions of Office, you can install both
versions. I can read.
It is possible there is something wrong with your CD. Could be dirty or
damaged.

Could be the way you did the removal. Maybe you screwed something up
installing both versions. I dunno.

With Office 2003 installed follow the below instructions to install FP 2000 after you receive the error that you posted.


1st Rename Office subkeys

Note: Removing the following registry keys may reset customized user
settings for your Microsoft Office programs.

1. Close all the applications.
2. Click on Start->Run, type in REGEDIT and click on OK.
3. Locate and select the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0

4. Right click on 11.0 and rename them to Old11.
5. Close the Registry Editor.

2nd. Detect and Repair Office 2003


1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Change/Remove Programs on the left pane.
4. Highlight Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 on the right pane
and click Change.
5. Insert the correct version of CD when it requires.
6. Select "Reinstall and Repair" and click Next.
7. Select "Detect and Repair errors in my Office installation".
8. Click Install and wait the process to end.

3rd. Install the Front Page 2000

Thanks Peter but it didn't work, I didn't have a Office\11.0 ....just
Office\10 so I changed that to Old11 didn't work, so I changed Office10 to
Old10, no change. BTW I now have a 12 ;-) I guess it most be an install
number? Same result

What did you post as your original issue in this thread. Office 10 and Office 11 as being installed and trying to install FP from Office 9 (2000) to run concurrently with Office 11(2003)

Yes sorry Peter it is Office XP (2002) Hence the ten, and I am trying to
post part of 2000 onto my machine. I have installed Office XP onto three
other non Vista computers and afterwards added FP from 2000 in the past,
this has not been a problem before because FP is not on Office XP. As I said
last night I removed Office XP and tried to install the office 2000 and got
the same reaction. I now have an Office\10, Office\Old10, Office\11, and
Office\Old11 on both HKEYs.
Why did MS remove FP from Office ;-(
