Hi all..

I have a Compaq with pre-installed Win XP.. when I try to
install office 2000.. it say something like

" Windows Fileprotection

Windows-files must be installed, for for the installation
to continue.

Insert Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD now.

"

Well I didn't get any windows CD to go with my computer
since it is pre-installed.. I tried 'windows update' but
nothing changed..

Any ideas?

Regards Martin

Since searching is half the fun, go to Google.com and tpy ein "disable
windows file protection"

There are a truck load of articles out there with details on this.

Ok, thanks for the answer.. howcome windows file
protecion is enabled on this comp. I have another almost
similiar .. also a compaq with pre installed xp.. there
was no trouble there..

Did the search on google..

Is there any other way, to make this work.. maybe
download SP1 and burn it to a cd?
The stuff on google is too complicated for me.. don't
wanna cause any damage to my new comp...

There should be an \i386 folder on your hard drive for this
purpose. When prompted for the CD, browse to this folder.
