you should check windows update, they released a patch for this. i think is
for connecting to vista. here are some details:

Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0) for Windows
XP (KB925876)
Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Services Client 6.0) provides a
way to use any new Terminal Services features introduced in Microsoft
Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server Code Name “Longhorn” from a
computer running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1.
How to Uninstall
This software update can be removed via Add or Remove Programs in
Control Panel.

Not RDP, grasshopper. Tsemah is talking about Remote Assistance.

Here is the full issue:

- - -
I can't seem to "Offer Remote Assistance" from any XP\2003 to Vista I keep
getting the error: "Automation Server can't create object" on the XP Machine
and the event: 10006, Source:DCOM
"DCOM got error "Class not registered" from the computer Vista when
attempting to activate the server."
- - -

BTW, I can repro the problem here.

Offer RA from XP to Vista is not supported.
Offer RA from Vista to XP is supported.

It is expected that an expert helping someone with a Vista problem will be
running Vista themselves.
