My last post did NOT get posted for whatever reason so I will try again.
I swear I have walked in on some School Playground here. I see people
who are trying to self proclaim themselves as Professionals, taking part in
over 60 posts against ONE person. They talk to each other as if they are the
same Merry-Go-Round when in fact they are hundreds or thousands of miles
apart and have never laid eyes on each other. Gives the board a very
UNPROFESSIONAL appearance and the very people who are wanting to be deemed as
Professionals are the worst culprits here.
I have seen them tear apart the guys English and I have seen bashing,
and preaching about how a person should post. Maybe some of you people should
start your OWN websites where you can pick and choose who will be allowed to
post.
When people come to these boards seeking advice if they are at least ten
years old I would think they have enough Common Sense to know that when they
see masses of people and masses of subjects that real Professional Experts
will be Camoflaged pretty good. These people have found their way onto the
Internet and to the Website and to the proper Newsgroup, which in itself is a
challenge and and have found a related subject, so I would think they have
enough Common Sense to know that there are ALL types of people here. It is
obvious you have the Cut and Pasters, you have the very RUDE so-called
Professionals, you have the sarcastic and the freaks looking for attention
and yet you all have spent 60 some odd posts singlying out Pete and in my
Humble opinion have made fools of yourselves as you preach this and that and
try to act like this is some sacred Shrine.
It is a Newsgroup on the Internet and it is only as GOOD as everyone
involved, note I said EVERYONE. Pete may be guilty of trying to help when
maybe he shouldn't have, but the rest of you are far more guilty. You all
have spent your day bashing and critizing when all youhad to do was to post
and move on. It gives these boards a very Unprofessional appearence when over
60 posts are dedicated to bashing one guy and only a few chose to be
professional ad offer Good advice on a Level field.
I have re-formatted my hard drive at least a giga times over the years and
I have installed giga times all of my software, as well as nearly everyone
who offers advice. People learn by their failures and by mistakes. No one who
comes here is immune from learning as many of us have and to think they will
not have to learn the computer thru trial and error, you are only fooling
your own Professional selves.
This thread has been a eye opener for me and I have learned who has
decency within them and who are here for self esteem. You all need to climb
down off of your Soap Boxes and try acting like the Professionals you claim
to be.

Just skimming through these notes, I may be wrong, but I don't recall seeing
anyone proclaiming themselves to be professionals. But the fact is that
there are several regular posters here who are recognized as true experts
and actually they are on the same merry-go-round even though they are
thousands of miles apart. And many of them do have their own excellent
websites.

First of all, it is fairly easy to overcome the region code problem the
original poster described. There are software packages that modify the
drives BIOS, and others that simply by-pass region checking. I was unable
to find the thread, but in fact I did send a message to the poster that
suggested that the poster had to buy a new DVD drive. However, this person
had an eMail address that I could reply to in private rather than in public
which is the only recourse for people who use the web interface.
I see that you are unimpressed with the number of people telling you the
same thing about the worthlessness of your advice, so the only recourse is
to put you in the TWIT filter and just ignore both you ignorance and your
even more useless defense of your uselessness.

This thread has invited over 40 grown adults to come in and mostly
Grandstand when all they needed to do was ignore the thread or only
answer once.

I have seen some Mature so-called Experts get very short with amateurs
that have come on here looking for a little assistance. They have been
treated rudely and very unprofessional by many of the very same who sit
and judge Pete
I too have seen such unprofessional behaviour.
I don't know Pete from Adam and I have offered advice on these boards
and I have received advice on these boards. I know of a couple of
individuals who do nothing more than all day long just cut and paste web
addresses for
answers and yet they go unscathed. Judge not and ye shall not be judged.

If you want people to pay you some respect, EARN IT. I have not seen one
shred of evidence in this thread that you deserve anything other than a good
hard bitch-slap to wake you up.
When "someone else said is not a writing class (sic)" they meant this is not
a creative writing class, therefore YOUR creative writing in all lower-case
is NOT justified, hence the reference to e.e. cummings. They were not
defending your writing, they were scolding you for it.
The best thing you can do is stop posting for a few months and just sit back
and read the groups, PAY ATTENTION to the style and etiquette of the posts,
read a few books, then come back and post in a rational, adult manner.

Just skimming through these notes, I may be wrong, but I don't recall
seeing anyone proclaiming themselves to be professionals. But the fact is
that there are several regular posters here who are recognized as true
experts and actually they are on the same merry-go-round even though they
are thousands of miles apart. And many of them do have their own excellent
websites.
