OffByOne as an online browser

I've tried OB1 and downloaded several small files. I do notice when
clicking on a download, a long "loading" screen, if I interrupt it after
a time, it downloads the file to it's own location.

What are the restrictions or problems to using OB1 to download large (16
MB) files?

I need a small browser for a laptop, and OB1 can be transfered to it on
a floppy.

(1 MB freeware) ... Should have been pricelessware years ago.

OB1 can *run* from a floppy. Great for surfing on 'non personal' p.c.'s

Have you seen that long loading delay when it's actually downloading?
Seems that there's no downloading screen?

It is true there is no download progress page, per se, and it seems to download
everything to its own directory (you can not set a download directory to give
the filename listed as `save' a full path name and succeed. Also, offbyone uses
ram for its webpage cache, and the amount of ram does not appear to be settable
either. This might effect the download of large files. Perhaps the more ram you
have the more ram it uses for its web cache?

A simple solution to all the download limitations is to cut and paste the
download URL into any of the freeware download managers. As i recall, right
clicking on a link does let you copy the URL to the clipboard.

Thanks. I'll have to experiment.
