OEM versions of Windows XP

I bought a version on Ebay that I know learn is not validated. I cannot
play DVD's as I do not have a DVD encoder or whatever that means.
However I was able to install Windows XP and have just recently bought
MS Office 2003 Professional. I sure hope that it installs.

What can be done?

What can be done about what?

You purchased an OEM version of Windows XP (unknown edition) on eBay and say
that you know it is "not validated" --> what does that mean?

You say "However I was able to install Windows XP" --> okay... Were you
able to activate it? Were you able to install Windows updates? Have you
been able to install antivirus software?

You then add that you, "recently bought MS Office 2003 Professional" -->
fantastic - from where? eBay again? Just like playing the odds, eh?

I am still unsure what it is you are asking. You say you, "hope that it
installs." <-- if everything you have is legitimate - it's not a "hope"
thing - it's a "will or something is wrong with your machine physically or
it is infested with malware" thing. ;-)

Sorry for the confusion. I was able to install XP and run the Windows
update. But when I go to the web to validate XP I get a screen saying I
am running a pirated copy and my XP cant be validated whatever that
means I do not know.

You were warned on 2-10 about buying Windows on eBay, but you did it
anyway, and now you're whining about not being able to "validate" it.
You got what you paid for, Mr. godbot.

It means you been had. Your copy is invalid and you need to buy a new, valid copy, and install that
copy if you want to continue using the Operating System. You will soon have a constant "nag" screen
and security updates will stop.

You might complain to Ebay, but I would not count on getting your money back and hopefully that
seller is not allowed back on Ebay.
