Just flashing the bios should have nothing to do with
having to reactivate windows. I have never been prompted
to reactivate/reinstall or anything after flashing my bios
and also after updating it.

Er, flashing is a synonym for updating...

If the system is one that came with the machine 'BIOS Locked' and you
get a flash from the maker, they should have taken steps to ensure that
the lock is retained after the flash. If it does not, and the lock
breaks, then the system enters normal activation - so you get on the net
and do it. It pays to have installed SP1 which gives you three days
grace to do this in.

If it is an OEM one that you had to activate previously then this should
not affect activation: if it does ask to be reactivated it should got
through again on the net like the first time
