OE 2003 News Cleanup

W

William Oertell

When I'm done reading whatever messages in whatever newsgroups I'm
interested in, I like to delete all the message headers so that the groups
don't get too cluttered. Right now, that entails going to
Tools/Options/Maintenance then clicking on the Clean Up Now button and
deleting message headers and bodies. Is there anyway to set up OE so that
it deletes message headers and bodies on exit?

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

Since Outlook Express is the newsreader for Outlook 2003, which is what I am
using, I felt my question was more than appropriate for this newsgroup. It
certainly seems appropriate. So, I guess if my question involves Outlook
2003 it's okay here, but if it involves the newsreader for Outlook 2003,
it's not. Typical Microsoft bull crap.

Perhaps, but you'll want to note that Mr. Schorr doesn't work for Microsoft,
so why complain?

Ah, but in fairness Outlook Express is also the newsreader for Windows XP
and Internet Explorer. You could just as well post Outlook Express
questions in those forums. My point being simply that it's a separate
product from Outlook and the two don't share very much except the
confusingly similar name. Accordingly while folks who answer questions in
this forum are undoubtedly knowledgeable about Outlook, they may not be
particularly skilled with Outlook Express.

The reason I was guiding you to the Outlook Express newsgroups is because
the Outlook Express experts hang out in those forums rather than this one.
You're can ask your Outlook Express questions here if you like, but you'll
get faster and better answers over there.
