Odd problem - printer sharing changes by itself????? Help? Ideas??

I have a computer that is setup to share the printers connected to it, an
HP3500 Laser and a Canon i960 inkjet. Every so often I can't print to the
laser with another computer. I go over to the printer dialogue in the
server computer and the sharing button has gone from sharing to do not share
this printer. This does not happen with the Canon only the HP. This
happens ever couple of days. Were would I look 1st to troubleshoot this
oddity? Very puzzling that printer sharing could change on its own.
Operating systems are both Windows XP Pro.

TIA

Update. It seems to happen when I run a new program I have on the server
computer. Odd thing it is happening every 1/2 hour or so tonight. I am
going to see if it is certain things in the program that causes the problem
and then trouble shoot from there.

Delete the printer in the control panel on both computers and
reinstall the drivers.

Hmmm that may just be too simple and actually work. I will give it a try.
Thanks for the heads up.

I tried that and no go.

However the program that causes that problem has a printer setup menu within
it. The printer was set to HP 3500. When it was set to this and we printed
from the host computer, printer sharing would go from sharing to do not
share this printer so other computers could not print to the 3500. So I
went and changed the setting from within that program from HP 3500 to
<default> which gives me the default printer which is the HP 3500 anyway.
Now I don't have the sharing problem. Its nice that I was able to clear up
the problem but it would be interesting to know what caused it. The tech
people from the software company say they can't think of anything that might
cause it.
