odd folder name in Word 2000

We are running Office 2000 on a stand-alone Windows xp
machine which has two users - Administrator and Julie.
Julie is the computer's user.

When she logs on under her own name, starts Microsoft Word
and clicks open, the computer shows, as its default
directory, 4567aAsdZ, rather than Julies Documents. If
she types in the folder Julie's Documents, the computer
replaces that folder name with 4567aAsdZ.

If she logs in as Administrator, starts Word and selects
the folder, Julies Documents, the computer displays Julies
Documents as the folder.

We don't understand why the folder name is misrepresented.
By the way, we've searched the computer for a folder named
4567aAsdZ; none exist.

This brings me to a problem I have with this web site. I
was interested in the answer, so I set out to search for
the other posting. As so often happens at this site, a
search for an exact phrase ("odd folder", in this case)
yielded no results. (The only way I can find to search
the entire "Word" section is to go to "Search" in a
category such as "New Users" and use the down arrow next
to "Look in".) Similarly, a "From" search
for "Dolmetsch", who posted the question, turned up
nothing. Curiously, a search for "Barnhill" produced all
sorts of results. I could go on, but the point is that
the search features on this site are puzzling to the
extreme, and seem to work sporadically. Any thoughts? Is
there any place for web site feedback? I have been
performing various types of searches for years, but this
has me stumped.

It is much quicker to search the groups by using Google -
http://www.google.com/grphp
and by searching on your name, both threads were quickly located.
It is much simpler to setup a news account in OE to msnews.microsoft.com
rather than use the web portal.

Thanks for the help. Still, it seems an odd thing that it
is easier and faster to search the web site from the
outside.

Well, the Web site itself is just a "window" into NNTP (Usenet) newsgroups.
If you read the NGs using a newsreader such as Outlook Express, it is much
easier to search them than it is through the Microsoft Communities portal
(though Google is still superior for older posts that may have scrolled off
the Microsoft server).
