User account in MyDocuments

Daughter got a laptop for Xmas with Windows XP home with SP2 all ready to
go. At boot up there is an owner account and guest. Following instructions
she changes Owner to her name Julie with admin rights. When I look under the
main mydocuments folder I see the usual, Admin, Default, Owner all users but
no Julie. There is however a Julie folder way down the bottom. When anything
gets saved it is saved in the owner folder and also the Julie folder. I had
expected a Julie folder under the mydocuments folder.

From my own PC structure I have a folder with my name under the main my
documents and everything gests saved in my folder not owner. I do also have
a folder with my name at the bottom which is ok.

My question is this a new structure since XP2 or did we set it up
incorrectly? No other user is on the system

Hope I explained it ok :)

Thanks

Bill

Hi, Bill. You set it up incorrectly. What you should have done - and can
do now - is to create a new user named "Julie", not just rename the
Owner account. After you've created the new "Julie" account and moved
any data over there, you can delete the "Owner" account if you like. Do
*not* delete the Administrator account!
