[ODBC Text Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read only.

Hello all!

I have created an ODBC data source based on "ODBC Text Driver".
Version is 4.0.6205. The Text file is not allowed to have any
extension so the full file name is "test". Now I get the error message
"[ODBC Text Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read only."
when I try to read from the data source.

I know that there is a way to modify the

HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Jet\3.5\Engines\Text key in the
registry (DisabledExtensions and Extensions)

But I do not know which value I have to set to handle files without
any extension. Is there any other way around that ODBC Text Driver
Issue or can anyone please provide me settings in the registry that
can handle that problem?

I believe you will need an extension as Windows will treat it as a folder or
because it does not have a valid extension the ODBC Text Driver can not
determine that it is a text file.
