ODBC Error on Joins

I receive the following error when I try and execute a query using either a
left or right join on two Oracle tables:

ODBC - call failed
[Oracle][ODBC Oracle Driver] [Oracle OCI] ORA-00936: missing expression
(#936)

The tables are linked to the database and I can view the tables without any
errors. I can also execute queries on the tables and long as there are no
joins in the query.

It's a Windows 2000 PC with MS Access 97. I have upgraded the MS Jet
(msjet35.dll) to version 3.51.3328.0.

I've searched the newsgroups and web, but have yet to find an answer that
solves this problem. The part I really don't understand is I have another
PC setup just the same and the query works on it just fine.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Have you tried running your query as a pass-through query using Oracle
syntax for the join. I can't say for certain, but Oracle may be balking
somehow at the Access approach to things.
