Object Picker Error

I'm using W2K Professional SP4 with all updates in a NT 4
domain setting no AD. I'm trying to use Computer
Management to view Event logs and manage my local groups.
If I double click on an event in any of the logs I get a
quick flash and no event. If I try to add a user to my
local groups I get the following errors:

Local Users and Groups:
An error occurred attempting to create the Object Picker.
An error with no description has occured.

Object Picker cannot open because no locations from which
to choose could be found.

I've tried removing my computer from the domain and
readding with no luck. Also reapplied SP4 to it.

Hello Emerson,
This isn't a problem with the service pack. In order to manage users in an
NT4 domain you must uses User Manager, which uses NETBIOS for name
resolution. 2k attempts to pull resources and objects using DNS. You
could try adding an LMHOSTS file to your 2kpro machine pointing to the PDC
of the domain and then attempt to manage users and groups on 2k.
