Object moving too far

When I move lines/text boxes using the arrow keys they are moving too far. I
only want to move them a very small amount so they line up exactly.
Could someone please advise me.
 
Hi,

It sometimes depends on any snap to grid settings you have. Try holding the
<Control> key while you bump the arrow key. It will be smaller increments.

Please tell us your PowerPoint / Windows version,
whether you are using vba, whether
your cows are in the corn paddock, or
anything else relevant.
 
Turn off your "Snap to Grid".
Go to your Draw tool bar. In the Draw drop down (up) menu, select Grids and
Guides. Uncheck Snap to Grid. This will allow for smaller incremental
movements with your arrow keys.
 
I can't believe it was something so simple. Thank you both of you, I can now
finally get on with it.
