object explosion

I recently ran my Ad-Aware program and instead of the usual 48,000 - 54,000
objects scanned, this time it scanned over 90,000 objects.
What would cause this many objects to be new on my computer? Does this sound
like anything you guys have seen before?

Are you running the Norton Utilities, the "System Doctor"? That has a habit
of creating a bazillion 0 byte .inf files, which can really cause problems
with Windows at startup.
