OBCM crashes Outlook

On my Windows XP SP2 PC I upgraded my Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003. It worked
fine. My new version of Outlook 2003 came with Outlook Business Contact
Manger, so I then loaded it as well. After loading Outlook Business Contact
Manger, Outlook asked if I wanted to open the Business Contact Manger and I
responded, “Yesâ€. Immediately an error message appeared stating an error had
occurred and Outlook had to close. The error message also asked if I wanted
Business Contact Manger to restart upon reopening Outlook. I answered, “Yesâ€.
The same error message appeared. I then answered, “Noâ€, but the same error
message appeared. I rebooted but upon opening Outlook the same error message
appears. I finally had to remove Outlook Business Contact Manger using the
original install disk, as there was no entry for Outlook Business Contact
Manger in the “Add Remove Programs Listâ€. If anyone else has encountered this
problem and knows of a resolution please let me know.

Thanks

There have been multiple upgrades since that shipped version of BCM.

On the 2003 platform, we are now up to BCM Update 2 Service Pack 3. I
strongly suggest you install the upgrades and service packs. I would more
strongly recommend going straight to Office 2007 if BCM is something you'd
like to use. Bear in mind that we just had a Technical Refresh of all Office
2007 beta products so you'd need to download that on top of Beta 2007 :).

Usually, a new profile would solve the issue. Additionally, you can remove
BCM from the Information Services list in the Mail applet that is found in
Control Panel.
