Business Contact Manger Back Up Error Message

Once a week I try to back up my business contact manger in Outlook 2003 by
going to the manage database tab in the BCM drop down menu. During the
backup process, an error message appears stating that there are file errors
and it shuts down the back up process. Has anyone had this happen and what
can I do to fix it?

I haven't had any errors but did you try the check errors utility in the same
screen?

Yes, I did use the check errors utility to see if it would fix the problem,
but I got the same error message when trying to backup the database after
running the check errors utility. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Mike

Can you try doing a repair of .net Frame Work 2.0 from add /remove programs

Also can you try creating a new database and see if works

Dear Raul,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have completed both of your recomendations but
the error message still occurs when trying to back up BCM.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the update. When you try doing the backup does the error message
state the following "Some Exceptions occurred during Backup. Backup has
been aborted."

Please let me know

Hi Raul,

The error message reads "Some errors occurred during Backup. Backup has
been stopped."

Thanks for your help with this problem.

Hi Mike

Try these following steps and check whether it resolves your problem

- Go to start > Run > Services.msc and stop the Windows Management
Instrumentation Service (WMI).

- Then navigate to the following directory under
C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository and rename the same to Repositoryold.

- Once this is done restart the WMI Service.

Hope this helps

Good morning Raul,
I followed your suggested procedure but when I got to the WMI Service it was
stopped already. Also, I did a file search and could not find the
C:\Windows\System32\wbem\Repository file as the computer told me it could not
be found. I tried to restart the WMI service but got an error message, Error
126 "The specified module could not be found". Will I need to reload all of
this?

Hi Mike

Interesting.. You might not have to rebuild the service .However you might
want get in touch with MS product support service's their number would be

1-800-936-5700 and ensure that your transferred to the Win XP support team

I am not well versed with this topic hence might not be able to provide
suggestion on the same. Hope you understand :)

Also if do you have another computer on which the service is up and running,
if you let me know and I can suggest some alternative steps
