O2003 + app settings Windows 2003

U

Update

I recently installed W2003 Terminal server and Office
2003.
Is there someway I can optimise Office 2003 for Terminal
server usage? Remove splashscreens and so on.
What is the best way of publishing outlook settings to
the ts users and ensuring that users that is created
afterwards get these settings?
If I want special settings for other applications that is
settable in the registry, how do I make it default for
all new users created?

Download the Office Resource Kit, http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2003/tools/BoxA19.htm

Question 2 and 3: The best way to do this is to use a login script where you specify what registry keys should be created/changed for the user.
for outlook you should create a prf file with your settings and then call it for the users in the loginscript. eg.
path_to_outlook\Outlook.exe /ImportPRF path_to_script\Outlook.prf

hops this give you something to start with.

Hi Patrik,

Thank you for posting!

Rickard's information is correct. As for the splash screen issue, I think
it may be related with the display adapter driver. Please update the
display adapter driver on the client and server to the latest version.

Also, you may use the following tool on the client computer to connect to
the Terminal Server.

Remote Desktop Connection for Windows Server 2003
