O 2000 rules character limitation

BDavis

I tried to add two new rules and got the following error
message "There is not enough space on the Microsoft
Exchange server to store all of your rules. The rules the
failed to upload have been deactivated."

There is post in the formum that seems to address this
saying that there is a 32k total character limit on all
rules put together.

So, I deleted all my other rules accept the two I want to
keep. There is no way these two rules total more than 32,
000 characters. Is there some trick to freeing up this
space afer deleting a rule? Is there any way around this
situation by creating a local rule? If so, how?

By the way, both rules move incoming mail from two
different lists of people to two different mail sub-
folders.

Thanks Ben

The 32k limit is on the SIZE of your rules, not the characters.

Ahhh. Ok. Well same question though. Why didn't deleteing
my other rules free up space. Also, where are the rules
physically store... How can I see how much space I have
left?
