Nyko Gamepad not recognized

G

Guest

I bought a Nyko Air Flo PC gamepad at a recent flea market. The hardware
seems fine since when I plug in the cable the power lgiht turns on and the
fan will work. However, windows will not even recognize it's existance. I'm
running windows XP professional. There is no proprietary software for this
gamepad; the company's webiste itself says I should just be able to plus it
in and windows will take care of the rest. Is there any fix I can get to make
windows recognize my controller? Thanks.

PS: I've been hit with MS blast (long dead now), and a beagle variant struck
back in march (contained). I don't think I lost any data, but would these
have any effect on my problem?

Hi Cynic,

Try "add..."ing it as a generic controller using the Control
Panel / Game Controllers applet. I hope that works for you! :)

I'd love to, but the add feature only has a maximum of a 2 axis, 4 button
controller. The AirFlo is 2 axis with over a dozen buttons (it's similar to a
PS2 controller)

Hi Cynic,

Here's what AirFlo suggests:

Thanks for the link, but it still doesn't help since I don't even get the
popup saying "New Hardware Detected" when I plug the controller in. I did as
they suggested and went into my device manager, but there is no listing for
an HID anywhere. This may be why the controller isn't being recognized.
Anything I can download to correct this?

Hi Cynic81,

Test the controller on another system running XP.
There might be a problem with the controller itself..
