It seems NVIDIA has climbed another rung in the battle for graphics card supremacy. Following the recent release of ATI's X1800, NVIDIA have brought out their own cutting-edge graphics card; the 512MB GeForce 7800GTX. The new card is apparently 33% faster than it's predecessor, the 256MB GeForce 7800GTX, the result of a faster core clock and memory clock speed.

The core clock speed of the 256MB version was around 430MHz, but the 512MB card boasts a huge 550MHz. Furthermore, the memory chip (Samsung DDR3) is now running at 850MHz - up from 600MHz.

The card costs $649.
