Nvidia Purevideo DVD decoder

Has anyone had difficulties with activation of the decoder?

I had downloaded the trial version,, which expired after 30 days, then I
purchased the decoder and apparently it has locked out my DVD drives.

I have:
uninstalled and reinstalled the drives,
uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.
unistalled and reinstalled the decoder 6 times.
system restore back before the trial version was installed,
system restore back to current time,
ran virus scan,
ran spybot scan,
ran registy mechanic scan,

I have not heard back from Nvidia for over a week and the answers are not in
their FAQ's

the trial version worked fine, and during activation/installation the
installer accepts my info with no errors.

Here's the message in device manager for the drive properties.

"A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver
may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

Anyone else have this problem???

This should help, uninstall the Nvidia decoder then download this registry
script and run it,reboot your computer then reinstall the DVD decoder.
http://dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm

Sometimes when dealing with software related to optical drives when you
uninstall them they leave a mess which hides the drives. The fix from Doug
Knox does the same thing that this link talks about except that it is
automated.

P.S. Don't forget to reboot (required for the registry changes to take
affect).

Good Luck

However when I go into the registry unde
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

I don't find an "UpperFilters" or "LowerFilters" anywhere,,, am I missing
something?
