Hi all, I have read through a few of the posts on here, and have a problem
very similar to a few of the other posters..... I recently purchased a
packard bell pc with vista pr-installed .... everything worked fine for a
time .. however all of a sudden i can no longer access the internet, I keep
getting an error message saying unable to find www.googl.co.uk or whatever
other address i type, I have repeatedly tried the repair function but get the
error message "windows found a problem it could not repair", I have spent
agea on the phone to both my ISP (as it also reports it as a DNS error?) and
to netgear (who,s router I am using), both to no avail .... I am getting
close to chucking the pc in the bin and starting again using XP .... please
please any suggestions !!!! .. I am at my wits end to try and solve this
problem so PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

The very fact that it worked ok for a time suggests that you have made a
change or added something that Vista probably doesn't like.. for browser
problems, start by going to Add/Remove Programs and removing ALL toolbars..
try this first..

Mike,
Thanks for the real swift reply .... I will follow your suggestion as soon
as possible ... Thanks once again for the reply.

Hi mike...back again... went to conntrol panel to remove any toolbars ....
none there to remove!!!! ..... so removed anything that had been installed
since 1 may... as this appears to be around the time the problem first
started ...... also tried doing a system restore to a date prior to the
problem...no joy ... infact the first time i tried the restore it failed!!!
and no there was no message as to the failure ...just to say something failed
during the restore!!!!!sorry if this all sounds a bit vague but this is all
new to me ...usually let someone else deal with the problems but have decided
(wrongly as it appears...lol) to try and sort it myself.....
