Nvidia GeForce 6200 driver problems

L

lovetogame200

I installed the card. I installed the driver for the card. After installing
the driver and rebooting the system It has a lil pop up window stating the
graphics driver failed and then recovered and the pc freezes off and on i got
like 3 to 4 seconds between freezes when i can move the mouse. when it
freezes the screen goes black and comes back and then displays the message
again.

im assuming theres a driver conflict ive tried the new drivers from nvidia
aswell as from microsoft as well as the bette drivers and nothing has worked
so im back to my the intagreated graphics on the motherboard.

any help or solutions with this problem would be greatly appreciated. ty for
ur time

Hi lovetogame200,

You might need to check the settings in your BIOS. Refer to the motherboard
manual for details on accessing the BIOS in your system. You need to look for
the option to disable on-board graphics. If you also have on-board sound but
are using a sound card, then this needs disabling as well. A lot of systems
will automatically disable built-in graphics and sound if you don't wish to
use the on-board facilities, but some don't and in any case it is always best
to manually check the settings if at all possible.

In "Uninstall or change a program" remove the nVidia graphics drivers for
the 6200, and also for your onboard graphics if any are shown.

Reboot and then install the latest 169.25 drivers.

nVidia say that older graphics drivers should be uninstalled before
installing newer ones. Their graphics drivers should not be updated or
overwritten.
