Driver Problem

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but maybe
someone can help....

HP IQ506 TouchSmart
Vista x64
Nvidia GEForce 9300M GS ( newest driver from the manufacturer
installed )

I am constantly having issue with what I think is the graphics
driver. The screen randomly goes black for a second then comes back
and in the task bar this message appears "the grapics driver has
failed and recovered..." and sometimes the PC completely freezes to
the point to where I can only hit the power button.

i contacted HP and they say to update the driver.... did not help
contacted NVIDIA.. no reply

I also cannot update Windows Experience Index, it come back with an
error saying that it did not update due to either a hardware or driver
failure....this is a brand new PC and I cannot find help from
anyone!

Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Not to be a smarta**, but if it is a "brand new PC", the obvious solution is
to return it to the vendor and demand replacement or refund. If you can't do
that, exercise your warranty rights with HP. I'm assuming you've had these
issues from day 1. If not, when did the trouble start and what, if any,
hardware or software changes did you make just before the trouble started?

A "brand new PC" should not have such issues. BTW, I agree that it does
sound like a graphics driver issue.

Are there graphics drivers available from HP (instead of direct from
NVidia), and have you tried HP's latest offering?
