Nvidia 7300gs video card causing Vista to freeze

When I have my display adapter (nvidia 7300 gs) enabled as normal, Vitsa
freezes at a random time. It occurs more frequently when running video files,
but can happen with no applications open. When I disable this display adapter
and run on the on-board one, the problem does not occur, but then I cannot
run anything that needs direct x. I think the issue is due to the driver for
the nvidia 7300 gs. I have rolled back the driver, but this has not helped.
And I downlaoded the latest driver from nvidia's website, but this has not
helped. Through device manager, I have unistalled and re-installed the nvidia
7300 gs. Can anyone suggest anything course of action? Is there a specific
driver I could try (and where to find it)?

Hi AJ,
I have the nVidia 7300 GS and works well with my Vista. You may want to try
and remove the card itself than put it back in the slot securely and see if
that works.
nVidia has a new Beta driver now and soon it will become (whql).
Good luck!

I have Grisoft AVG for anti-virus and Windows Defender for anti-spyware. The
Firewall is just the standard Windows.

What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.
