Recently been given a new computer with XP Professional &
Microsoft keyboard. Is it possible to set my keyboard so
that the numbers lock is automatically on when I start up?

Thanks

Pacenote -
On computer startup - hit the necessary key (ofter Del) to
get into your BIOS setup. Usually on the second or third
page you'll find the option to turn the Num lock feature on
or off.
good luck -

Hi!pacenote!

Start > Run > regedit > ok
Navigate to HKEY CURRENT USER\Control
Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators
0 = numberlock off
2 = numberlock on
If you want the numlock on at the Welcome Screen you also need to change:

HKEY USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators
(same number values as above).

cheers!
