Is it possible to create a numbered list where the number is followed by
text? For example, i wanted to create something like Point 1, Point 2,...

You can display static text in a numbered list by typing it in the
"Number format" box (in the Customize Numbered List or Customize Outline
Numbered List dialog box).

On the other hand, if you are saying that you want numbering to display
within the text of a paragraph, as opposed to the left side of it, then
you can use SEQ fields instead.

To insert a SEQ field, you can press Ctrl+F9. Word inserts field
delimiters, { }. Within these, type SEQ test. ("Test" is the name, or
identifier, of the field. You should choose something that makes sense
to you.) Press F9 to update. Repeat the procedure to insert additional
fields, or copy and paste an existing field.

Note that fields do not update automatically, which will be especially
apparent if you used copy and paste to duplicate them. You can trigger
an update by switching to Print Preview and back. Printing would also
update the SEQ fields. And you can force an update of selected fields by
pressing F9 at any time. To show/hide field codes, use Alt+F9.
