numbered cross references

I have a document with a lot of numbered items in it. I have a list of
numbered references that I want to insert as cross references but in the
Cross References box in the section "For which numbered item" I have too many
to choose from as it lists everything in the document that is numbered.

How do I limit the selection to just my numbered references?

Assuming your reference list is at the end of the document, just scroll down
to the bottom of the list.
