Ntvdm.exe problem

Jim

I have recently installed a desktop note program on two
computers. It runs fine on Windows 2000 but on Windows XP
whenever I use my printer the printing hangs until the
desktop notes program is shut. If I use task manager it
tells me I have a Ntvdm.exe problem followed by a system
error which says the 16bit subsystem is unstable. Any
suggestions on how can I fix Windows XP to run this
program as well as Windows2000 does?

Hi,

See if this helps:

"16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem" Error Message When You Install a Program
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314452

Sometimes helps to delete ntvdm.exe (the NT Virtual Dos Machine) and
reboot - a new one will be created from the system cache.

Hi Jim,

Is the program supposed to be WinXP compatible?
